This website aims to introduce travelogues written in Bengali. The publications are photo intensive, with close to 200 color photographs in each book to enhance the reading experience, after all an old saying goes that a picture is worth a thousand words. The style of the narrative is story telling.
The contents pages list over twenty different travel tales for each book; including markets, food, popular attractions, sports, culture and more. Each chapter ends with a few lines of relevant information. At the end of each book, there is a chapter on a variety of basic information.
From a weekend street market when a road named Portobello in the Notting Hill area of London is closed to traffic, or standing on the small balcony at Lords Cricket Grounds, still called, “Ganguly Balcony” to a Native American Pow Wow in New York City. From the feeling of a launch off into space and looking at the open mouth of Jaws a couple of feet away, to finding a statue of Garuda looking down from a wall at the Royal Palace in Bangkok. From getting up before sunrise to follow the footsteps of a Monk as he walks along the streets of Bangkok to gather the day’s offerings from people, to Asiatique, a bustling riverfront night market in Bangkok, which until a few years ago was full of dusty unused cargo sheds.
Take a look and a read to embark on a journey for yourself through these travel tales.
