Biswa Pratim Bhowmick was born in Kolkata, India and attended Don Bosco School, Park Circus in Kolkata. In 1988, upon completing a Bachelors degree in Economics at St. Xavier’s College, Kolkata, he earned a scholarship from Fordham University in New York to pursue graduate studies. From Fordham University he has earned a MA (Economics), MBA (Finance) and PhD in Economics.
Since 1991 he has been a full-time administrator at Fordham University and is currently in the position of Assistant Dean/Associate Director at the Higher Education Opportunity Program of Fordham University’s campus in The Bronx. Additionally, since 1995 he has been an adjunct Associate Professor of Management at the MBA program at Fordham University where he has taught courses in Mathematics and Statistics. The MBA students nominated him in 2004 and 2010 to receive the Dean’s Award for Faculty Excellence in recognition of his teaching in the classroom.
He has a passionate interest in travel, photography and writing about his travel experiences. His travel based articles and photographs have been published in the Telegraph and the Statesman newspapers in Kolkata, India and in Jetwings, the in flight magazine of Jet Airways, with headquarters in India.
The recent travelogues on this website are based on his visits to these destinations over the past several years and include a collection of his photographs. These travelogues were written in English by the author and have been translated into Bengali by trans-creators chosen by the author.
